how to find the right business coach

In my humble opinion, everyone should have a business coach. And ideally that coach would be me but, as I’ve mentioned before, finding the right coach is akin to dating. Personalities have to match, goals have to align and of course, it helps if you like the same football team or whatever it is that’s really important to you. For me to expect that I am the perfect match for ALL OF YOU would be a bit delusional especially since I don’t even really follow football except for the Superbowl and that’s mostly for the snacks and the commercials.

In my previous blog about coaching I urged you to get to know your coaching prospects. How exactly do you do you find the right coach when it’s not as if ‘speed coach dating’ is a thing? Well, you can always go with the formal interview approach. Much like you do when hiring staff or a member of your sales team.

The other option? Take one of the many courses that Sales Gravy University has to offer.

A number of the instructors are also available for one-on-one coaching, it’s a great way to observe how they do business, and you’re going to get some invaluable information in the process. This is also an incredible option if you’re simply looking to add a specific skill set to your arsenal or build on your existing expertise.

Think of it this way, you could learn how to sell through storytelling AND find the right coach. I think that’s what they call a win win.

Considering these courses, like my ‘What to Say When You Don’t Know What to Say’, are regularly taught to sold out classrooms, I’d say they’re worth looking into.

And to make it easy for you dear reader, I’ve put together a list of the classes that I personally teach below. Just click the link to learn more and register! If you find one that strikes your fancy but it’s already sold out, shoot me a message so I can keep you in the loop when the class might be offered again.

Fanatical Prospecting Boot Camp – October 22nd

Sales Gravy most popular course! Fanatical Prospecting Bootcamp is the class to beat all classes when it comes to sales prospecting. In it I teach you the tools, techniques and tactics to confidently leverage all avenues of communication from the phone to sliding into someone’s DM’s to keep your pipeline full with high-quality leads.

Know exactly what to say to schedule more appointments.
Have the skills to really engage in more conversations.
And ultimately close more sales.

Selling With Stories Workshop – October 26th

A brand new course at Sales Gravy University and designed by yours truly.

Who here remembers having bedtime stories read to you?
Or who has read bedtime stories to the children in your life?

It’s because of this practice that narratives are so compelling. Learning and remembering is supported by the emotional connections established in being read to or told stories. It also leaves a lasting imprint in the long-term memory.

What does that all mean? The stories you tell can establish emotional connections with buyers and feelings can be a very powerful motivator. In this course I teach you the ‘Story Spine Framework’ and how to deliver your narrative in an authentic way that will engage stakeholders.

Mastering Sales Objections – November 1oth

Objections happen.

How often they happen depends on your ability to navigate and overcome them. Designed by Jeb Blount himself, you’re going to learn the framework, skills, tactics and techniques to effectively handle objections without all the bait-and-switch schemes and sycophantic tie-downs of the last century.

Spontaneous Selling

The best thing about this course? It’s self-paced.
The worst thing about this course? It’s self-paced.

All jokes aside, this course is for you if you’ve ever:
Gotten tongue tied in sales conversations.
Struggled to find the right words to say on prospecting calls.
Been left speechless when you get hit with hard questions or objections.

You’re not alone, but there is some work to be done here; like learning the art of sales improv and who better to teach you than me, a master improv instructor with decades of experience in selling off the cuff.

What to Say When You Don’t Know What To Say

Another improv based course, this workshop will have you articulating the perfect comebacks to buyer objections and confidently closing sales with smart, organic conversations. Sounds super fun right? It’s my most popular course to date but it’s not yet on the upcoming calendar.
